Instagram updated their API recently, allowing you to add a lot of new metrics to client reports and dashboards!
At AgencyAnalytics, we always aim to keep on top of API changes for your integrations, to ensure you have access to the latest and most detailed data for client reports.
Today we've pushed out a nice update to our Instagram social integration, to bring you a huge range of new reporting and dashboard options.
New Instagram Features
If you check your Social > Instagram dashboards (via your left side menu), you'll notice right away that we've gone from two Instagram dashboards to five!
These five dashboards are loaded with insights into each client's Instagram account, including followers, posts, stories, and more.
Importantly, most of these dashboards can be dropped into your reports as pre-made pages.
Here's a full overview of each of the new Instagram features we've added.
Instagram Discovery data
First up, our new Instagram Discovery dashboard and report section gives you an at-a-glance overview of some key summary metrics.
You'll see your client's Instagram follower count across time, along with their overall reach and impressions.
Instagram Interactions dashboard
Next, our Interactions dashboard shows you the number of interactions, and a detailed breakdown of the exact interaction types that users are making on your client's Instagram profile.
You can report on profile visits, directions, calls, emails, message clicks, and clicks through to each client's website.
Instagram Audience dashboard
Our Instagram Audience dashboard gives an in-depth look at your audience demographics, which can be crucial for understanding the best marketing strategies to implement.
Here you'll find widgets covering the age, gender, locations and languages of your followers.
Instagram Posts dashboard
We've always given you an overview of your Instagram posts, but we've now added a wider range of metrics. For each Instagram post, you can monitor the number of likes, comments, views, reach, engagements, and post saves.
You've also got the choice in how you see this data: Either as a feed-style view, or as a more detailed table (switch your view via the buttons at the top right).
Instagram Stories dashboard
Similar to our Posts dashboard, you can now see a lot of key stats for each of your Instagram stories. This new dashboard allows you to monitor taps back, taps forward, replies, exits, views, and reach.
And just like with our Posts dashboard, you can see your stories shown as an image-friendly feed, or switch to a more analytical table via the buttons at the top right.
Important information for Instagram Stories: Instagram only keeps your Stories data for 24 hours. Due to this, Stories data cannot be added to reports. However, you can still browse Instagram Stories data on the live dashboard (as shown in the screenshot below). Give your clients dashboard access if they need ongoing updates on their Stories.
