Custom metrics are here! We're bringing you this much-anticipated feature that gives you full control over the metrics that are important to your clients.
Want to show your total PPC spend across all advertising platforms? You can do that.
Need to find out your average cost per phone lead? Not a problem.
Let's dig in more to this exciting update!
What are Custom Metrics?
Available at Enterprise Plan level, you can now take any existing metrics, plug them into a formula that you've created (which can combine multiple integrations!), and come up with your own brand new custom metric.
The use cases, as you can imagine, are endless! Let's see what all of this means:
How do I create a Custom Metric?
Firstly, navigate to the campaign that you want to create the custom metrics in. For this example, I will use Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.
Next, select Settings from the left-hand menu, and then Custom Metrics from the top menu.

Now here's where the fun begins!
You'll be brought to a Custom Metric setup screen, like this:
The first three fields are:
Name
Data Type (integer, float, currency, or percent
Description
The fourth and final field is where you can get truly creative: the Formula field.
Creating Custom Metrics Formulas
To define your custom metrics, you typically want to manipulate two or more existing metrics using a mathematical operator.
To do this, we've made it easy to:
Choose metrics from our integrations
Insert operators
Add static numbers so that you can divide by 3 if you want to get the average of 3 metrics, for example

Here are some Custom Metrics ideas to help you get started:
Shopify or WooCommerce "total sales" - Facebook Ads "amount spent" = Net Profit
Shopify or WooCommerce "total sales" / (Facebook Ads "amount spent" + Google Ads "Cost")= ROAS
Facebook Ads "leads" + LinkedIn Ads "leads" + Google Ads "conversions" = Total Leads from Ads
We'd love to get your feedback on this beta version of the feature. Try it out with some test data and let us know what you think!
Using Your Custom Metrics
Adding your Custom Metrics to your dashboards or reports is just as easy as adding any other widget. Simply Add a widget to your dashboard or report, navigate to Misc and select Custom Metric.
You will then be able to select from your existing Custom Metrics!
