New Integration: Google My Business Insights
Last week, I announced the first of our year end "Christmas Surprises" for our customers, and hinted that there would be more to come. Today, I'm thrilled to announce the next Christmas surprise in our series: A dashboard integration with Google My Business Insights!
Why yes. Yes it is.
You'll find the new integration in your normal left-hand side campaign navigation under SEO --> Google My Business (click here for detailed setup instructions):
This integration has been a long time coming. I checked our "feature suggestions" database just now, and we actually received our first request for the integration over a year ago. In the time since then, customers have consistently told us that this was the "missing link" in their reporting, and was the absolute top priority for them as far as new integrations. But the months kept dragging on, and it was turning into:
But we've actually had the integration coded and ready to go for quite some time! Google has a lengthy approval process for the GMB Insights API, and we just finally received final approval last week.
And at this point, we're right there with you, feeling like:
GMB Insights is one of our most data rich integrations, and we can't wait for you to get rolling with it. So without further ado, let's take a quick walk through each section.
Under the "Reviews" tab, you'll first find "Direct versus Discovery searches". (Direct = customer searches for the business name or address. Discovery = customer searches for a category, product or service that you offered)
Then, rounding out the top row of data visualizations, you'll find:
- Searches over time
- Search versus Map views
- Views over time
Next up are metrics that help you to understand the actions that visitors are taking via the GMB listing. These KPIs can help to isolate historical trends and changes in GMB interactions over time.
These metrics are Clicks to website...
...Requests for Directions...
...and Phone Calls generated via the GMB listing.
The 3rd row brings native Google Reviews data to our dashboard and reporting, which is actually a highly requested feature in it's own right. You'll find both the total number of reviews over the specific time period...
...as well as the aggregate rating.
These metrics are a great fit for inclusion in reports that already contain Yext, Birdeye, or Grade.us data!
Finally, we round out the "Insights" tab with granular call based data, detailing calls generated via the GMB Insights listing by day...
...and for higher volume businesses, calls by hour:
If that wasn't enough, we've also added a detailed "Reviews" tab that functions similarly to the Yext/BirdEye/Grade.us Reviews feeds. The "Thumbnail view" details per-review metrics including the reviewers name, the date of the review, the review text, and any comments.
Click any review from thumbnail view to see the original review and craft a response. The "List" view breaks down ratings and "replied/unreplied" data on a per-review basis.
And of course, as always, you can immediately begin adding GMB Insights data to your automated cross-channel marketing reports:
